The Origin

Get out of bed and lift up your head theres a hell of a world to see,
through all of the smiles and all of the lies you've always been there for me.
Truth be told I never did try,
to understand just what you mean to me.
Forget it all,
she's seen the worst in me.
You've cut me down,
against my will.
This broken town,
is dead and still.
I felt so lost,
within her eyes.
Feelings has cost,
a compromise.
I once heard my mother say,
I once heard my mother say.
Someday,
You'll be a better man.

The Rachel Papers

Page after page of hopes and dreams,
corners folded over there to remind me.
Broken hearts chase after love it seems,
will never happen to me.
I am the count down,
and you are the calendar.
Boy's like girl's and girl's like boy's,
playing with their hearts as though they're toys.
Who'd have thought that words like these,
would bring me to my knees.
My first love she was my teacher,
she led me on to believe her.
That pages ruin peoples lives,
is there any chance I'll survive?

I can see you're distracted,
and your answers are lacking.
Your lipstick is staining,
These thoughts are repeating.
We will be saved,
a chance we must take.
You've shut me down,
I don't have a chance.
I'm filled with doubt,
at your perfect advance.
Your attacks they sound like thunder,
all your words they pull me under.

Matriarchs

I fell short from this conversation,
your words can't embarrass me.
I doubt we'll crack this combination,
sit back and have a chance to see.
Lets celebrate,
when it comes to midnight.
We're giving up,
we've lost this time.
You insist that I learn the basics,
on the ways to communicate.
These girls appear so face less,
tell me 'What does it take?'.
I'll call it quits,
when body gives way.
I'm getting tired,
of the games we play.
I took a chance hoping we'd get along,
I've got to admit it that we've got it wrong.
Dressed up in black whilst you're biting your tongue,
he's dancing with your hips to my favourite song.

All Doom, No Gloom

We've had a chance to redeem ourselves stuck in this town,
an act that could make us believe this is somebody else.
Your colours have taken you so far now you need some help,
I took a train to the city to figure things out.
You know you know,
you know that.
We've got the melody,
come on and sing with me.
These streets have become a collection of false imagery,
a place for the youth to mirror the things that they see.
I'll gather all of my friends,
we'll sing along to these anthems.
We will sing.
